Of Freedom and Cat Fights

02.07.25 was a normal day like any other. The plus point on being on a career break is that I can afford to have my hair treatment during working hours, which enables me to enjoy a more quiet experience as I watch the world rushes by. It's more meaningful as I also can spend time with my mum as we have our hair treatment together, which focuses on hair growth.

Was thankful that we were able to find a parking spot right in front of the saloon as the API reading was especially bad that day and I had a fall due to a slip down the stairs on 29.06.25 carrying groceries down and missing a step at home. Being able to park right in front of the saloon was helpful as I could use less of my right foot on the paddle.

Anyways, after we were done, on the way down (the saloon was located on the first floor), very near the bottom of the stairs, I missed a step but thankfully did not fall, however, I twisted my right foot, causing my right ankle to take the brunt of things. Not good.

As usual dinner was early, around 5.00pm. Catso, our beloved tuxedo cat was let out for an hour as she has been couped up at home and was angsty not being out the house the whole day. I was planning to call her back in an hour for her dinnertime.

After an hour, I called her in, but what I saw made me very worried. She was at our immediate neighbor's house and was hyperventilating, clearly under a lot of stress. She hopped over the fence, looking very shaken, wet and with scratches on 3 areas. We would soon discover that it was actually 4. I immediately called the nearby vet who told me that if she was still hyperventilating after 15 minutes to bring her in. By 12 minutes, we rushed her to her first ever vet appointment.

She was highly stress, and to add to it we needed to get her in the carrier bag. We bribed her with a lot of treats and soon we were on the way to the vet.

Long story short, she got into a fight with another cat and she was injured. There were three wounds on her hindlegs and one near her lung which can be worrying as it could be a lung puncture so the vet told us to monitor for the next 3 days. She was put on a course of antibiotics and we were given antiseptic and cream to put on her wounds for the next 7 days. However, to ensure she does not bite her wounds, we need her to wear a cone - which she was not happy about.

Fast forward to today, she has made a fast recover. Next up, I plan to get her on a course of anti-flea medication from the vet as we think she could have gotten them from the cat she fought with. More to come!
